| July 2006 | Fall of Rome - Break the Boredom! | July 2006 |
| Website gets facelift! | New promotions! | Epic Game continues! |
| We
have recently updated
the look of
the Fall of Rome website – hope you enjoy it! We’ve
put a major
emphasis on better explaining the kind of game Fall of Rome is, what
we call episodic strategy, to better attract players who appreciate
the strategic depth and game play elements we offer, that they
won’t
find in the dozens of real time strategy games or arcade style
shooters. |
New Promotions offered! We’ve begun two new promotions, one for new customers, and one for existing customers. Begin playing Fall of Rome now as a new player, and after you have a few turns under your belt, send us an email, and we will give you a second game of Fall of Rome free – a $23 value! For our valued customers already enjoying Fall of Rome, we invite you to introduce a friend to the game, and join a game with him or her. Help show them the ropes, and after that game gets to turn four or later, send us an email and we’ll provide both you and your new apprentice with a free game each! More details are provided on both offers on the Promotions page of the web site. | Epic
Game gets past midway
point. Our
feature attraction of late, the special contest between our current
top two players, Lord Thanatos and Lord Diamond where each controls
six kingdoms, is into the critical mid game stage. The contest has
gone back and forth and it is too close to predict a winner. The
contestants have documented their strategy and battles in the forum
under the thread “Epic Game Begins”. It’s
an entertaining
read! |
| Coming Attractions! |
| We will be working next on a team game variant of Fall of Rome, providing Campaigns of Centurion to you, and developing a tutorial to help new players. Then we intend to turn our attention to Kingdoms of Arcania development. |
| Enhancements go live! | Campaigns of Centurion | Try your hand! |
| Fall of Rome enhancements go live! The GUI enhancements that have been in place on our development server have gone live. Now there is a better visual image when planning legion or character movements, where the possible destinations are highlighted, improving the intuitive nature of the interface. We’re also now displaying the Mentor and Novice badges on the Kingdoms screen, so each kind of player knows who is there to offer help, or who can be approached for giving it. Of course, Novices are also given some starting advantages and Mentors are at something of a penalty to help balance things out. So if you are an experienced player, take a few minutes each turn to send messages to the novices in your game and help them get off to a good start! | Campaigns
of
Centurion made
available
to all regular customers! This is our lightning game – eight
minutes a turn, 15 turn game, so you complete a game in two hours. You
get to customize your position setup, and you play on a new map
called the Spine of Italia. Up to five players per game.
We’ll be
launching a new Valhalla page for both Centurion and Campaigns to
keep track of who can lay claim to being the best players in these
formats. Create your own cohort and give Campaigns a go today! Thank
you
for playing Fall of Rome! |
We invite our experienced players to try their hand at a strategy article on a topic of their choosing to help the newer players, or even to impress your peers with your in-depth knowledge. The political game, military tactic choices, managing agents, how to develop a powerhouse economy are among the fertile areas for writing. Submit your article to us, and if its good enough, we’ll post it on the Strategicom! All players should also be aware that the forum is a great place for asking questions on game play, or discussing all matters related to Fall of Rome and Centurion. Invite a Friend! |
